When I tell people about what we do here at Rockstar Rebellion, they always say “Man, I wish this was around when I was a kid!”
Then they start telling me about their music lesson experience as a kid.
The teacher was mean and would smack their hands if they made a mistake.
The teacher made them feel guilty for not practicing.
They had to play classical music, which they hated.
They never got to play with other musicians.
They HATED music lessons.
And then there’s the people who never got the chance to take music lessons as a kid but always wished they had.
They begged their parents to take lessons, but they couldn’t afford it.
They wanted to learn guitar but their parents said piano or nothing.
Listening to these stories make me so sad for this generation of adults.
We’ve changed music lessons for their kids, but how do we undo the damage that was done to them by their childhood teachers or their parents?
Everyone deserves to have a magical relationship with music.
That’s where our Midlife Crisis Rock Band comes in.
Allow me to introduce our Midlife Crisis Rock Band program for adults!
This band program is for adults who have experience AND for those who are total beginners.
You can choose your instrument. Guitar, piano, bass, ukulele, drums, or voice.
In a Midlife Crisis Band, you will:
learn how to play the instrument of your choice
play contemporary songs
write your own songs
name your band together with your band mates
create a band logo together
be mentored by local bands
perform and put on concerts for friends and family (don’t worry, you’ll have all the support you need for this!)
have a Facebook community where you can connect with your band members
get help from your coaches in-between rehearsals if you need it
This program is designed to:
get adults playing music through fun and play.
help you make friends with other socially awkward adults.
heal childhood wounds put on your by parents and teachers.
encourage you to share music with the world!

We have instruments here, but we want you to REALLY believe in yourself. Invest in yourself. Now, you don’t need to get a top-of-the-line instrument. But we want you to have something to play at home. We’re happy to make recommendations based on your budget!

You will get access to a Facebook group exclusively for your band. We will share things there, updates, wins, etc. But your coaches will also be in the group, so if you need help with something before your next band rehearsal, you’ve got it!

Obviously, this is a team effort so we know you will make your best effort to make it to every class. But we understand that you’re an adult and have responsibilities. If you need to miss a lesson, we will post a video tutorial for what you missed in the Facebook group.
